We are proud to announce two significant investments at the Delfi Electronics plant in Sønderborg, Denmark.
The new automatic optical inspection unit (AOI) improves and strengthens our quality routines. And the third MG 1 has been installed in the SMT line, meeting the future demands of high-precision mounting of components down to 0201, but it also improves the quality and capacity.
New SMT line With only 50 dpmo (defects per million opportunities) the failure ratio of the new MG 1 is down by 75% compared to the existing ones in our production line. This means a smoother and more efficient production in our Sønderborg plant, especially because we can now set up individual tolerances for each component. This minimizes the number of pseudo-failures.
The investment in the new MG1 Pick &Place machine also means that we can meet the future needs of mounting components down to 0201. This size will become mandatory when designing new products.
The installation has been a great success. It took just one day to install the MG1 from Assembléon, meaning from day one our customers were able to take advantage of the higher quality of our SMT line.
Inline inspection The new VI Technology 3000 inline automatic optical inspection unit is integrated in the SMT production line. The production of each order has become much smoother because it checks the first three printed circuit boards before the full production run. That in turn means that errors are detected and reported much earlier.
Investing in quality The investments follow our strategy of constantly developing our quality standards. Earlier this year we were certified according to the ISO14001 environmental standard. Furthermore, the investments underline the fact that we will remain equipped to be your partner for electronics manufacturing services and box-built solutions.
Best regards,
